Starting today, July 1, Delhi has officially banned all diesel fuel sales over 10 years and petrol vehicles over 15 years – conducting it with buning and threat of penalties, fastening and even forced violations.
Staying, aimed at preventing pollution and removing vehicles at the end of life (EOL) from the capital’s roads, is carried out through automatic slab recognition cameras (Anp) installed at gas stations, along with the off -road teams from Delhi and police.
If your vehicle breaks the age limit and trying to fill the fuel, you will be removed immediately. Worse still, you could face £ 10,000 fines for four wheels, £ 5,000 for two wheels, traction charges, and your vehicle could be seized or sent directly to the Scrappage yard.
What are your options?
Owners of now banned vehicles have three lanes:
- Sell or transfer the vehicle out of Delhi by obtaining a Certificate of Appeal (NOC) from the Delhi Transport Department.
- Retrofit the vehicle with an approved electric kit – but this must be done through authorized agencies and only if the vehicle is considered appropriate for conversion.
- Discard the vehicle in a licensed scratch center. Incentives or discounts on a new vehicle can be applied according to government schemes.
Exceptions are not allowed:
The rule is strict. It refers to all the affected vehicles regardless of the condition, even if the emission tests pass. Currently, vehicles CNG over 15 years are released – but may be included in the future stages.
What’s next?
Politics is expanding in NRC cities like Gurugram, Faridabad, Gaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Sony in November 2025 and in the full national capital region by April 2026.
