Ray Ford says he hopes his next fight after his August 16 clash against Abraham Nova will be the world title against super -game champions Sugar Nunez or O’Shaquie Foster. Ford (17-1-1, 8 Kos) is not preferred by the one of the two champions challenging.
Ford struggles with a replacement opponent Nova (24-3-1, 17 kos) in the 12-round struggle in Riyad. The event will be shown live on Dazn PPV. Ray can’t afford another night, as we saw his loss to Nick Ball or his controversial 12th round killed over Otabek Kholmatov in 2024. He made beating in both battles.
“My main thing is that I want the title of the world. So if it’s not one of them then I don’t really care what I’m struggling with,” said Raimonds Ford Boxing socialL, discussing his recent fight against Anthony Kakace, which falls out. “I’ve talked to my team. They know what I want (world title shot), and hopefully they can do it for me.”
The 26 -year -old Ford has won the last two battles since losing to Nick Ball with a 12 -round division decision last year. He could have won this fight if he had put more pressure on the ball that beat him. He has to change his style because he has no power to consistently clean with the powerful 130-pounder. He is already starting to look and sounds tired, like a fighter who has had a long professional career, despite being just his sixth year.
“Boxing is not as cheerful as it used to. The business part is frustrated, but everyone has to go through. I just have to make sure I set myself. I hope that,” said Ford when he asked him to have his next fight to be the title of Super Plan Weight Champions Sugar Nunez or O’Shaquie Foster.
“It’s the struggle I have the most important (Foster). I don’t care what it is. I jump at any option.
