Rare Magnet Crisis on Earth, Geopolitical Tensions To Affect Car Sales, Fada warns

The current rare crisis of the magnetic crisis, geopolitical tensions and US tariffs are likely to reach domestic car sales, warned the Federation of the Association of Car Dealers (FADA) in the note on Monday.

Development comes at a time when retail sales for the domestic car market rose marginally by 4.85% year by year in April to June quarter of FY26. Of this, two -wheeled retail sales increased by 5.02% annually, three -wheeled sales increased by 11.79% annually, tractor sales increased by 6.29% annually, passenger sales increased by 2.59% and sales of commercial vehicles increased by 1%.

“While 2W has shown some softness in the early cycle, we remain confident in a robust ramp in the coming months, as seasonal claims and targeted OEM initiatives take effect,” says C.

In June, domestic retail sales increased by 4.84% year by year on 20.03.873 units, compared to 19,11,354 units in the same period last year. Two -wheeled sales increased by 4.73% during the month under 14.46,387 units, compared to 13.81.040 units in the same period last year. Three -wheeled sales increased by 6.68% to 1,00,625 units versus 94,326 units. Sales of passenger vehicles increased by 2.45% to 2.97,722 versus 2.90,593 units in the same period last year. Sales of commercial vehicles increased by 6.6% to 73,367 units, compared to 68,825 units in the same period last year.
