The Reddit user recently discussed the dress code at his job, which said he seemed to be intertwined with double standards. The user said in his post that at his job, which allegedly has no dress code, he was instructed by his boss not to wear slippers.
In a post entitled “Double Dress Code Standards: OK crop tops, slippers are wrong”, the user mentioned that his role does not include the presence of meetings or any other situation that requires to wear formal wear.
“I work on a digital news website where there is no official dress code. Some women collaborators bring peaks of cultures that expose the navel and I have no problem with it. But here’s what bothered me: I was told by my boss from my boss not to wear slippers.
The post became viral and left untreated, with some users supporting the need to wear something other than slippers at work. Others, however, supported the user through the right to wear comfortable footwear in the workplace.
“Go barefoot so your supervisor will ask you to wear at least slippers,” commented one joke user.
“Slippers are dangerous during evacuations according to health and security ISO standards. Your company provides your security. This is followed in all MNC,” another user explained.
“Batka, I understand that you feel comfortable in slippers, but still! I’m not even with crop peaks and things, but since it’s not my job, so not my rules! Either follow their rule or make your place where you follow your!
“Ask your boss for the reason. Turn on the human resource if they say they are not allowed and you are sure that there is really no dress code,” a user weighed.
