David Morrel says he “feels bad” to opponent Imam Khataev, receiving a two -year ban on the International Testing Agency (ITA) for violation of contradiction rules. Khataev (10-0, 9 Kos) will still fight former two division world champion Morrel (11-1, 9 kos) in a 10 round lightweight heavyweight competition this Saturday, July 12, at Luis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
Cuban talent Morrell is pleased that the fight is still on Saturday as he wants to perform and has gone a long training camp to prepare for the best 10 rival Khataev.
This is Morrell’s first fight, since February last year lost its WBA’s “ordinary” 175 pound title for David Benavidez. He wants to show that he has improved. Morrell says he changed his personality after this loss and will be a different fighter.
Khataev pressure
We will see because Khataev will do the same type of pressure on Morrell as Benavidez did, and he will do it right away. Khatev shares his resemblance to Arthur Beterbyev in his offensive style and power. We do not know if he can withstand Morrel’s tremendous power if he has really changed his fighting style as he says.

Morrel’s new fighting style
Morrell will have to change his style to win Saturday with Khataev and deal with boxer-spinning, such as Dmitry Bivola. He will meet Benavidez again too and he can’t fight the same way
“I feel bad for him,” Morrel said about his opponent Imam Khataev, and he was given a two -year ban on the forbidden pediatrician due to a positive test. “Why do you need something for fighting? It’s weird. I want to (still) fight him on Saturday night.
“I had a bad experience. More importantly, I focused on myself,” Morrell said about his loss to Benavidez.
