Cognysant for VNAEE 1,583 Rs on the Visahapatnam campus, create 8000 jobs by 2029

Global IT and Professional Services giant Cognizant has announced a major expansion of its operations in India with plans to build a £ 1,583 campus in Visahapatnam, Andra Pradesh. Spreads to 22 hectares in Capulupa IT Hills, the facility will develop in three phases, creating over 8,000 jobs and further strengthening the company’s digital transformation and Global Customer Delivery Opportunities.

The announcement comes after the approval of Andhra Pradesh’s cabinet, led by Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu. Cognizant will start operating in early 2026 from a temporary installation with a capacity of 800 collaborators, before Phase 1 of the permanent campus is completed by the beginning of 2029.

Sri Nara Lokesh, Minister of IT, Electronics and Communication, Human Resources Development and RTG, welcomed the announcement: “We are pleased to welcome Visahapatnam’s connoisseur, which is in line with our vision to build Andra Pradesh as a destination for prime ministerial enterprises.”

He added: “The presence of cognizant will further speed up the region’s digital economy, while increasing the technological skills needed for the labor force of the future.”

Ravi Kumar C, CEO of Cognysant, called the move a “significant turning point” in the company’s growth trip in India.
“With its abundant pool for talent and stable infrastructure, Visahapatnam is as a strong partner in our mission to develop the digital labor force tomorrow, especially in cities in India Level 2,” he said.

Cognizant’s expansion in Andra Pradesh is coming to the heels of new delivery centers, launched from 2024 in Bubanjevar, Indore and City Technology Center, Gujarat-all designed to support agility, collaboration and skills for the next generation.

India remains the cornerstone of Cognizant’s global operations, with over 70% of its 336,300 employees in the country. The Visahapatam facility adds to its wide network through Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chenai, Pune, Mumbai and other cities.
