China On Friday, it announced that it would increase US import tariffs from 84% to 125%.
The move represents the latest escalation of the current trade war between the United States and China.
China has said it has made the move in response to US lifting tariffs, but said it did not plan to take revenge against any potential additional US tariffs.

“The imposition of the United States on abnormally high tariffs for China seriously violates international economic and trade rules and also violates basic economic laws and common sense. It is completely unilateral abuse and forced practice,” the country said.
“Since there is no acceptance of the US -exported market in China at the current level of the tariff, if the United States continues to impose additional tariffs on Chinese products exported to the United States, China will ignore it.”
