In 2025 I try to do a few things differently.
In particular, moving towards moments or items that make me uncomfortable.
(I don’t mean “times when I’m in physical danger”, of course).
But rather, I’m going to run to The things my brain tells me.
E-mail I’m afraid to open. The conversation I’m afraid to have. The question from which I am afraid to ask. The ability to be alone in my thoughts (Yikes).
When I get to my phone or Netflix or Playstation Controler to avoid boring or inconvenience or sad or guilty …
I try to break some discipline first.
Not to avoid, distract or entertain me away from actually what happened.
No belt go out or escape, Monty-Python Style:

If I have the courage to sit there and really ask. “Why is this causing me inconvenience?” There are valuable lessons of knowledge.
Bent in nuisance
Author Pema Chodron separates the following in his book When things are divided:
“We consider it anxiety as bad news in any way.
… feelings such as frustration, embarrassment, indignation, anger, jealousy and fear.
Instead of being bad news, they are actually very simple moments that teach us where we are holding back“
These things can be incredible teachers if we learn ourselves.
But it is another 2025.
Thanks to the Internet and our phone’s shipping, we can spend every day every day, hidden from almost all the awkward feelings of our lives. We should never be bored, we should never feel “bad”, we should never apply to the elephant in the room.
We can just slide, press, tap or turn off to avoid any and all “bad” emotions.
We can hide from them with endless entertainment and comfort (even if it hurts us to get what we really want).
Of course, these bad feelings do not leave. They are still there, and the things we avoid must eventually do business.
When I try to hide anxiety I know I don’t really avoid it. I don’t hold it in the box.

These feelings try to teach us.
Many feelings of anxiety are screaming to teach us something if we can review how we feel about them.
As Chodron mentions:
“They are like to show us that we are showing us with terrible clarity. exactly where we are stuckA number
This moment is a perfect teacher, and we are lucky to us wherever we are. “
Life has a way of doing that Quiet, awkward feeling Get higher and loud until we can’t help but turn to it …
But we can save us for a while if we know the fear, soon we lose weight, and life knows us to teach something.
It’s my challenge this week.
What to do?
We asked: “I am truly Hungry, or I’m just calming food. “
We admitted that we were frightened or restless or annoyed, then asked (with compassionate curiosity) How did they feel?
Life tries to teach us lessons every day.
We just have to be bold enough to be awkward to see that.
