The first suspected attack on Yemen’s Hais on a commercial ship this year forced the crew of the Greek cargo ship to leave its ship in the Red Sea on Sunday.
The attack was almost immediately from the Israeli attacks on a large number of ports held in Houti in Yemen.
If the attack on the magic seas, the SUV carrier most owned by Greece’s Stem delivery, was confirmed as a work of the hautras, it would be the first on a commercial ship in December by the Iran -backed group.
Michael Bodoroglu, chief executive of Stem Shipping, told the Financial Times that the crew was left “frightened” by several waves attacks that began attacking men in skifs and leaving the ship to take water.
“They didn’t know if pirates or hautis were, but then it became obvious that they were Hautis because there were more and there were missiles,” Bodoroglu said.

Hours after the attack, the Israeli defense minister wrote to X that Israel “strongly” hit the goals related to Juti, including the ports of Hodeida, al-Salif and Rasa Isa and the power plant.
He added that they also hit the ship with the galaxy leader carrying the car, which was attacked and seized in the first attack on Hauti on trade in November 2023. He said the ship was used for “terrorist activities” in the Red Sea.
Hutis’s main account wrote that: “Yemeni air defense effectively deterred Israeli aggression, forcing a significant portion of its formations to withdraw, thanks to the large salvo of locally produced rockets from surface to air, which has caused significant confusion between the pilots.”
The magic seas wore a mixture of steel products and fertilizer from China to Turkey, Bodoroglu said. He insisted that the current trip has no links to Israel – the reason they usually quoted Hautis for ships attack – but recognized his ships sometimes called to Israeli ports.
Bodoroglu said the rockets had begun fires in the forecast near the ship’s bow and in the second posture. The ship’s fuel tanks were damaged, and the motor room hit, leaving it to take water.
The crew was while leaving the ship, he said, adding that the ship could sink. “The good thing is that no crew member has been injured,” Bodoroglu said.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations Office later confirmed that the crew had left the ship and collected “crossing a trading ship”. The ship was 51 nautical miles south-west of Hodeida, the main port of Hautis, at the time of the attack, the office said.
The hauties did not take responsibility. However, no other group has set similar attacks in the Red Sea in recent years.
The hauties said they were attacking Palestinian support ships in Gaza. The attack on the Galaxy leader in November 2023 came shortly after the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023 on Israel.
The group stopped attacking trading ships at the beginning of the ceasefire in Gaza in January and has not extended them since then, despite the collapse of that March in March.
The group focused instead of firing rockets constantly on Israel’s targets, such as the country’s main airport.
